If I'm Sandy Alderson, I don't hire Terry Collins for the simple reason that the jokes linking Alderson (last a GM in 1997) and Collins's (last a manager in 1999) shared history of entirely skipping out on the 21st century will be too easy. There might even be a hashtag meme on Twitter.
