Criminalizing homosexuality

This AP story (the link is to CNN) tells of a county in Tennessee that has asked the state legislature to allow the arrest of homosexuals and prosecution for crimes against nature.

I'm sickened to have lived in Tennessee, even if only for a very short time. Even if the state legislature where to pass the law, though, it will almost certainly be struck down in courts, thank goodness. Thus, the "physical" effects will likely not be felt, but the fact that so many people have such interest in what other people are doing in their own private lives (or rather, who other people are doing) is disgusting and embarassing.
