Jeff Baisley DFA'd

I should have stuck with my initial idea. Turns out it's Jeff Baisley who's being taken off the 40-man to make room for the three new guys who have to be added. Baisley may not be a bad player, but he's got too many guys in front of him for the A's to worry about needing his this year: Chavez might finally be healthy, Nomar's backing him up, Crosby is learning third base, and there's still Jack Hannahan if the A's want an all-defense, no-offense guy at the position. Baisley was always in a rough spot coming up through the minors because it looked like Eric Chavez was going to be there for the long term, so being blocked is nothing new to him. I wonder if a team with more need at the position will show interest and either trade for him or grab him on waivers.
