Eric Chavez to the DL (redux)

The A's surprised me by moving Justin Duchscherer to the 60-day DL and purchasing the contract of some pitcher I've never heard of (Kevin Cameron) instead of calling up Cliff Pennington. However, rumblings are now that the A's will place Eric Chavez on the DL today with the forearm strain that kept him out of action yesterday. Chavez is officially the Grant Hill of baseball. More to the point, however, I'd now expect Pennington to be called up to fill Chavez's slot. The Cameron move gave the A's 12 pitchers. You already know how excessive I feel that is, so 13 would of course be insane, especially since we're still in a relatively off-day-heavy part of the schedule, which makes Josh Outman available out of the bullpen from time to time.
